I had some great finds over the weekend! My very favorite score was this fantastic vintage oil portrait that I have pictured here in my entryway:
I also found the ceramic pot on the right and an MCM scandavian glass candle holder on the left. I picked up the antique books the prior weekend. The console is actually a child's dresser from Land of Nod that I got a few months ago for Mother's Day. I love the vintage library card catalog style.
Here is another look at the old oil portrait.
I got it from the estate sale of an art collector.
I'm not quite positive what era it is from, maybe the 30s or 40s?
Here's a shot of the candle holder:
I'm assuming it's a candle holder but I may have it wrong side up for all I know. I'm not sure of the maker, but it looks familiar. If you know, please do tell in the comments!
I wasn't sure about the planter, because I wondered if the brown color looked a bit dated, but I took a chance. It's the perfect size for my IKEA plant (If you're wondering, I have great luck with their plants!).
I think in the right setting, this geometric pattern looks very modern.
Check out this beautiful antique side table:
I can't wait to find a spot for it and style it up right.
I also found a few lap blankets. First, a pretty quilt:
It's handmade from colorful scraps, which is my favorite kind of quilt.
Finally, a crocheted throw blanket:
I love the pretty blue and white stripes of this afghan.
Thanks for stopping by! More vintage and decor can be found at these fine establishments:
Beautiful finds!
ReplyDeleteWow I love that antique side table and the faux catalogue drawers look fantastic! Xx
ReplyDeleteI believe your candle holder is a warming stand. You put a tealight candle in the center and a teapot (or what ever you want to keep warm) on top.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that is so helpful to know!
DeleteJust found your site on ModMixMonday. Love your finds & really love the faux catalogue drawers. Something I'd love to find or make. I'm hoping you have a place to subscribe by email & I missed it. If not I'll just keep checking in now that I've found you.
